Tanzania / Zanzibar
Tanzania is an East African country known for its vast wilderness areas. They include the plains of Serengeti National Park, a safari mecca populated by the “big five” game elephant, lion, leopard, buffalo, rhino, and Kilimanjaro National Park, home to Africa’s highest mountain. Offshore lie the tropical islands of Zanzibar, with Arabic influences, and Mafia island, with a marine park home to whale sharks and coral reefs.
TANZANIA
Tanzania has an estimated population of nearly 70 million, with Dar es Salaam as its capital. It is easily accessible via Julius Nyerere International Airport or Dar es Salaam port.
Approximately one-fourth of the country’s land is designated as reserves, conservation areas, and national parks, including notable sites like Serengeti National Park and Kilimanjaro National Park. Zanzibar reflects its historical significance as a trading hub, blending influences from Africa, Arabia, Persia, India, and Europe. In Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visitors can admire intricate architecture and vibrant spice markets.
Zanzibar is also home to endangered species such as Red Colobus monkeys and giant tortoises, alongside pristine beaches with crystal-clear waters. Abeid Amani Karume International Airport connects the island to major East African cities.
