Nyungwe National Park is Africa’s oldest montane rainforest, was designated a UNESCO World Heritage site in September 2023, marking it as Rwanda’s second World Heritage location. This biodiverse treasure is home to rare wildlife, including the Eastern chimpanzee, golden monkey, and Hills’ horseshoe bat.

With over 300 bird species, more than 200 tree varieties, and 100 orchid species, the park boasts an incredible array of indigenous flora and fauna. Visitors can discover vibrant butterflies, exotic birds, and rare primates.
